Orly by Angela Schanelec received the award for best film (Filmkunstpreis) at this year´s Festival des deutschen Films.
It was also screened at this year´s Berlinale and will be released in Oktober 2010. - Permalink

- Interview with foley artist Carsten Richter and Hanse Warns

The may edition of the German magazine Kameramann features a special about story-telling with sound incl. a portrait on my long-time collaborators Carsten Richter (foley artist) and Hanse Warns (foley mixer).
Probably one of the best foley crews around. We collaborated on lots of films incl. The International and Perfume by Tom Tykwer that won a German academy award for best sound design. Other films they have worked on: The Last King of Scotland , Waltz with Bashir and many other award winning films.
In june we will begin the work on Tykwer´s latest Film Drei. - Permalink

The documentary about 60 years of the Berlin film festival will be screened at this year´s Berlinale. I was one of the sound mixers on this production.

Cythia Beatt´s Film with Tilda Swinton is going be screened at this year´s Viennale in Oktober. The Berlin premiere is going to be on November 8th and will be shown at many Goetheinstitutes worldwide. You can also buy the DVD here and here
3SAT will air the film on Nov. 8th 21:45 followed by “Cycling the Frame” from 1988.These pictures are not from the Films. I took them in 1989.

The sound design work on Angela Schanelec´s new feature film Orly has taken off. A German/French co-production starring Natacha Régnier, Bruno Todeschini, Mireille Perrier, Emile Berling, Lina Faulkner, Maren Eggert and Josse De Pauw.
The film was almost entirely shot at Paris Orly airport. - Permalink
